Clerk of Records
Performs the duties of the Clerk of Courts, Prothonotary, Recorder of Deeds, Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphans’ Court divisions, according to all legal authorities governing those bureaus.
Controller’s Office
Responsible to the taxpayers to protect their tax dollars from fraud, waste and misuse in County government.
Coroner’s Office
Investigate sudden, unexplained, unnatural, suspicious or violent deaths so that the truth can be determined as to the cause and manner of death with medical certainty and scientific exactness for families, physicians, hospitals, courts, law enforcement agencies, insurance companies and the community in general.
Corrections
Protects society while maintaining a safe environment for staff and inmates at the Erie County Prison.
County Council
Representing Erie County, Pennsylvania’s citizens as their legislative voice.
County Executive’s Office
Works to promote a responsible county government, support a vibrant regional economy, assist local municipalities, and create healthy and sustainable communities.
County Solicitor
The chief civil legal officer of the County, as well as its open records officer.
District Attorney’s Office
District Attorney Hirz oversees an office of 16 Assistant District Attorneys, 9 County Detectives, and 10 legal secretaries and support personnel.
Economic Development
Their mission is to make Erie County a thriving and robust region by coordinating our county-wide resources to develop a network of industry, business, education and workforce support that will enhance growth and development throughout the region.
Finance
Administers the financial affairs of Erie County in accordance with the county’s Home Rule Charter and generally accepted accounting principles.
